On these lovely sunny days we are doing a whole lot of maths outside with Room 11. One of the activities we can choose from is skip counting in 5's. Here we are learning to go all the way to 200, in 5's!

Basketball with Brendan
Today we had the first of three special basketball lessons with Brendan. There will be follow up sessions on the next two Tuesday afternoons.
Today we practiced controlling the ball. We threw it up and tried to catch it, tried our hand at dribbling and even got some initial shooting practice. We finished the session with a game which was lots of fun. Roll on next Tuesday!

Term 4 swimming in Room 12
In PE this term we are looking at survival in and around water. To start off our swimming lessons we have been developing water confidence and practicing relaxing in the water so that we can float- as opposed to thrashing around and sinking! We have also been having a lot of fun!
Creativity and cooperation.
As part of our Discovery programme this week, I put a roll of cellotape and a stack of cardboard strips on a table. The room was buzzing as the children shared ideas and tried out ways of making something out of the strips. Lots of oral language and problem solving occurred as they modified and extended their ideas. Here is a sample of what some of them came up with.

...an eclectic mix of robots, buses, trucks, castles, spaceships and of course unicorns!
Well done Room 12!
