A visit from Pepper and Sparkle Belle.

Today we had a visit from two very special creatures. Thank you Isla and Coby for sharing your precious pets with us. We loved learning about rabbits, watching them and giving them a cuddle. It gave us lots of  ideas for our story writing.

I saw Sparkle Belle. I fed her spinach.   Tayla
I like Pepper because she is cute.    Kyden
I like the bunnies because they licked me.   Theresa
I like Sparkle Belle because she is white and black and grey and they eat cabbage and they are soft.   Malina
I like both of them. That is Pepper and that is Sparkle but my favourite is Pepper.   Lydia
I know about bunnies. I like their eyes.    Dylan
Sparkle likes spinach and cuddles.   Levi
I patted Sparkle Belle because I liked her and because she came to me.    Israel
I liked the rabbit because it had floppy ears. It was fluffy. Its name was Sparkle. She eats spinach.   Kiara

New people in Room 12.

This week we welcome two teacher aides who are going to be helping us with our learning for the rest of the year. Mrs Evans will be working with us during  reading and maths in the second block (playtime to lunchtime) and Liz will be helping us in the afternoon. We are so pleased to have you both with us!

Swimming lessons underway.

We are already half way through our term one swimming lessons and are learning lots of new skills and practicing old ones!

Here we are learning to relax in the water, floating on our front, with our eyes looking at the bottom of the pool.

Gaining confidence in moving through and under the water is an important skill and lots of fun as well!

Now we are practicing kicking with long legs, from the thigh, rather than just kicking from the knee. It helps us move through the water quicker and stops the teacher from getting so wet!

We mustn't forget about learning to float on our back, aided by a flutter board until we become more confident.

Thank you so much to Chloe, Susan and Marie who are helping us with our learning, and even getting in the water to show us how its done !
