Exploring before and after.

As part of our Measurement and Number units we have been exploring the concepts of smallest to biggest, next, after, 1 more and 1 less. We have been manipulating materials and 'playing' games to increase our understanding of the terminology. Today we worked on identifying and ordering numbers to 10. Once we got the order sorted we played a game where we had to put objects in the bag 'next to 6' , 'after 9' or in the bag '1 less than 5' etc.
We had lots of fun and are understanding what these terms mean a lot better!

Teamwork

Our Value of the term for term 1 is Teamwork. This week we have been looking at what Teamwork involves- cooperating and contributing rather than competing. We have been doing all sorts of activities to explore the value and benefits of working together- and to develop our literacy skills at the same time!
