Bugs come to school

Today we had a talk from the 'bugman'. He explained why bugs are so important and what they do for us. He talked about how they pollinate flowers and help to bring about seeds and fruit. He talked about how they are a food source for birds and other animals and even for people in some parts of the world. He explained how they are nature's recyclers, eating waste to return the nutrients to the soil. He even showed us a few live bugs.  Bella got to show us how brave she is by handling a native spider! Go Bella!

Basketball fun at school.

Welcome back to school!
Swimming has ended but basketball lessons have started and were enthusiastically received by the children.
Yesterday Brendan taught us how to dribble, throw, catch and shoot. Its amazing how much he can fit into a  half hour lesson. We will continue our basketball lessons over the next four Mondays. We hope the weather cooperates because it sure is a lot of fun!
