Our new maths rocks are a hit!

This week we had fun with our new 'maths' rocks, painted and donated by Jackson's mum.  We have found all sorts of ways to use them in our learning. Each rock is numbered and has the appropriate dot pattern on the 'wings'.

                                                                            

Here we are putting them in order from 1-10. We are racing to see who can sort and order them the fastest.

Our rocks are great for skip counting in two's...

..and for practicing counting backwards from 10...

...and for helping us to order a small group of numbers, from smallest to biggest.

Next week we will use them to look at doubles to 10, making 5 and making 10.
